One of the missions of the DUHS Clinical Molecular Diagnostics laboratory is to serve as the outlet for true translational research for our Duke University Medical Center scientists. These studies are also performed in close coordination with our Cytogenetics Laboratory to provide an integrated service to our patients and physician clients. We routinely perform a number of DNA based tests for both diagnostic evaluation and carrier screening for inherited genetic diseases. Our second major strength is molecular testing in medical genetics. We are constantly expanding this coordinated approach to develop the most advanced and clinically useful assays for our Duke lymphoma and leukemia patients. In this regard, we work closely with other DUHS Molecular Pathology laboratories including the Clinical Cytogenetics, Flow Cytometry, and Immunohistochemistry laboratories to provide an integrated approach to detecting disease-specific diagnostic and prognostic molecular markers. ![]() One of our primary strengths is molecular testing of lymphomas and leukemias. ![]() Our laboratory provides a wide range of DNA and RNA based tests for inherited genetic diseases, hematologic malignancies and infectious diseases all of which are performed at the Duke University Health System Consolidated Laboratories on the Duke University Hospital Campus. The Clinical Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at Duke University Health Systems is a College of American Pathologist (CAP) accredited, CLIA certified, state of the art, multidisciplinary laboratory that is dedicated to providing patients and physicians with comprehensive and accurate molecular testing.
